The name Hilary means one of cheer and joy—two qualities that shine through in everything she does. Whether in the classroom or out in the community, Hilary brings warmth, dedication, and a deep sense of purpose.
Hilary knew from a young age that she was called to teach and to serve others. Her path led her to the Carver Center for Arts & Technology, where she gained a strong foundation in the arts—acting, music, and technical theater—alongside her academic studies. These early experiences sharpened her skills in communication, creativity, organization, and leadership.
Hilary earned her Bachelor of Music Education from James Madison University, along with a minor in Dietetics, combining her love of music with her commitment to health and well-being. She is currently working toward a Master’s in Exercise and Nutrition through Liberty University, and holds certifications in conflict resolution, anger management, and servant leadership. Her education also took her abroad—to the historic classrooms of the University of London and the stage of Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre—but her heart led her home to the Shenandoah Valley where she has lived all of her adult life.
Hilary resides in Rockingham County - a place reminiscent of her childhood in rural Baltimore County - with her husband and their three children. She has an extensive resume of serving our local schools as former award winning choir director at SHS and later in various roles including PTO President, Boosters fundraiser, multi-sport "Team Mom", guest clinician, and parent advisory council. Her resume and skill set make her uniquely qualified for the District Three School Board seat.
Hilary brings together faith, family values, and a strong work ethic to make a positive impact. She believes in building up others, listening with compassion, and leading with joy.
